Born in Port Elizabeth, André grew up in George and only discovered his passion for agriculture until his third year at Stellenbosch University when he became particularly interested in vineyard and winery practical sessions.
He has established himself as a successful winemaker and look forward to a new region with new challenges and to continue the Darling Cellars quality legacy.
His hobbies include spending quality time with his family, which he deems as crucial to his success.In his free time, he enjoys getting together with friends to blow off some steam and recharge for the new week. Taking his kids on bike rides through nature is another favourite pastime.
When it comes to his drink preferences, Cap Classique is his top choice, followed by a good Sauvignon Blanc, and in winter with good food, a well-made Pinotage.
